Charmain Soobramoney – head of institutional business development
Charmaine heads up the institutional business development department within acsis. Her team is responsible for managing the relationships with our Business Partners, who are employee benefit consultants and administrators, who provide consulting services to trustees of retirement funds, medical schemes and trusts. As well as our direct corporate clients to whom we provide implemented asset consulting services. Charmaine has been in the financial services industry for almost 18 years. Prior to joining acsis, she was the General Manager of ASISA and was previously employed by the Association of Collective Investments (ACI). Prior to joining the ACI she headed the employee benefits legal services division of Sage Life. Charmaine holds a BProc, a higher Diploma in Company Law and has completed the Programme in Financial Management and Investments. She is currently reading towards her Masters in Financial Management. Charmaine is a member of the IRF’s legal and technical committee and the IRF’s investment committee. She represented the industry on the council of the Advertising Standards Authority of SA, as well as on the council of Business Unity South Africa. She was a board member on the Financial Sector Charter. Charmaine currently serves as a director on the Board of the South African Savings Institute.


Rob MacMahon – business development manager
Rob joined acsis in October 2008. He is responsible for servicing existing clients and for new business growth by identifying and partnering with South Africa’s retirement funds, employee benefit consultants and administrators for pension and provident funds. He is also responsible for keeping abreast of developments in the retirement fund market in South Africa and globally and ensures that our clients and partners are aware of these changes ensuring international best practice in acsis’ service proposition. Prior to joining acsis, he was employed by Pension Technologies, Legal & General Investment Management and AVIVA in the UK and Liberty Life SA. Rob holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Business Finance and Economics and a number of UK-based industry qualifications, including an Investment Managers Certificate. He is also a certified financial planner.
Lee Oliver – business development manager
Lee joined acsis in December 2007. Lee is responsible for business retention and growth by identifying and partnering with employee benefit consultants and administrators on the institutional client side. Lee has over ten years experience in the financial services industry. Prior to joining acsis, she was part of the teams at Sasfin Asset Consultants, Coronation Fund Managers and Brait Merchant Bank. Lee holds a National Diploma in Public Relations & Marketing and a National Certificate in Financial Markets and Instruments.
